Chamonix beginner paragliding course
Elementary Pilot (EP) Courses – 5 Days
Ages 16-99 (Parental consent for under 18’s)
As a complete beginner to the sport of free flying, it is imperative to start with a good, solid understanding and foundation of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. This is why we believe it is good value to learn in very small group, where the dynamics allow you to progress safely and at your own speed. You will learn how to; undertake daily inspection and pre-flight check your equipment; deploy your emergency parachute and conduct emergency landings; inflate and ground handle your wing; complete launch simulations; flight planning and much more. Expect a minimum of five high altitude solo flights during this course, with instructors at launch and landing, using radios to give instruction in flight.

Love 4 Flight is the registered name of our BHPA (British Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association) certified UK school. Theory, all paragliding instruction and examinations will all be conducted in English. You will need to be a current member of the BHPA (not included in course price) and have personal accident insurance with adequate cover for aerial sports.

Chamonix paragliding progression course
Club Pilot (CP) Courses – 5 Days
Ages – 16-99 (Parental consent for under 18’s)
With your elementary pilot stage completed, a further five to eight days are required to build your flying skills and achieve a suitable level to be free to fly solo and obtain a paragliding licence. We all learn at different speeds and there are many new tasks to learn during the next phase of tuition including more flights and ground training sessions. Flight planning and landing approaches, dealing with turbulence, reverse launching, 360 degree turns and ridge soaring are just some of the skills you will be practising.
You can look forward to more flights and airtime as your confidence soars, as we work towards soaring conditions and using parcles of lifting air, called thermals, to prolong your flights. Whilst slowly weaning you off radio commands, you will also work towards becoming an autonomous pilot, capable of launching, carrying out a flight plan and landing, without assistance.
Although we provide equipment, it is our recommendation that you should now be continuing to learn on your own gear, since this is what you will be flying after course completion. We will advise on suitable gear to fit your size and weight as well as your aspirations. We are resellers for many top quality international manufacturers and will endeavour to provide a competitve package.

Chamonix-based advanced paragliding courses
Alpine Thermalling Courses – Custom Packages Available
An opportunity to take your paragliding journey to new heights – no pun intended. Particularly valuable for UK pilots who would like to transfer thier skills to the high alpine environment. Learn or refine the principles of thermalling in alpine conditions, flying with your instructor under expert radio guidance.
We will fly from classic take-offs around the Chamonix valley and the Mont-Blanc Massif including Plaine Joux, Plan Praz, Plan d’Aiguille and Planfait depending on the conditions.
